Yes, I did! The accompaniment is perfect for my needs and I appreciate the article that you wrote to go with it. Although I play piano, I never really learned to improvise and am not proficient enough yet to attempt it for this activity. Thank you so much, Anthony!

Kids loved it! I have my students take turns using the ballon. So we also practiced "handling balloons with two hands." Needed to remind students to use the invisible balloon when they don't have one yet.

Did anyone use the audio clips I uploaded? Curious if they're useful...

Thank you so much for providing the audio clips! I think this would be a lovely activity for a winter concert. Would you be able to make an audio clip with no speaking that could be used as an accompaniment for a concert?

Thanks for the reminders in the TEAMM workshop about "bending the knee" before tossing! The preparation made the experience more meaningful!

- Interestingly, one of my 5th-grade class got the hang of the short and long toss. However, when I started to play Amazing Grace, which they are familiar with, half of the class thought it was a long toss. It made me reassess my teaching. Also, I wonder if they always think Amazing Grace is in 4/4. What would you do if most students seemed to toss somewhat with music but name the answer incorrectly?

- My students are working with a partner. After emphasizing the short toss, I made the "change" cue between toss and catch each time. We had to stop and discuss the option. Some students came up with the idea of tossing to their partner (which was what I had in mind). Is it feasible to achieve this without discussion? What is your take on tossing 3/4 with a partner?

Great questions. I suppose it's an interesting choice to feel Amazing Grace as a long toss... I actually don't hate it... but I suspect your concern is that they were actually DOING a short toss but then saying it was a long toss. If they were making that mistake I might actually try it both ways! You'd probably have to model it with them and not do the piano... You could toss on "aMAZing grace how SWEET the sound" for the long toss, or "aMAZing GRACE how SWEET the SOUND" for the short toss. Might be a fun exploration and allow them to try it both ways!
