We’re establishing expectations, forging a personal connection, and setting up the foundation for the learning that’s to come. This summer at Interlochen Arts Camp was no different! Winning Day One
There is so much about the first class that requires balance. You need to set boundaries for behavior, but also make a warm first impression. You need to hook the students with a joyful experience but also learn names and establish procedures. It takes a deft touch to hit all of those points on the first day, with the knowledge that your success will determine how the rest of your year might go.
