One of the most common questions I get asked is “where can I get more Dalcroze training.” While MusicXT is a great resource and way to stay in touch with the work throughout the year, incorporate it in your teaching, and experiment with the general principles of Dalcroze, it is not a replacement for a full training in the method! I am a big advocate for Dalcroze training, and I am always trying to make it more accessible to people. In the August 2024 TEAMM meeting, I invited a few ALL-STAR subscribers to come and share their experiences over the summer. In this post I’ll reflect on the meeting and share the FULL VIDEO! But first…

It builds musical instincts and expressive capabilities. But even more than that, this work builds on foundational human characteristics and virtues. We like to sa…

First of all, big thanks to KAYLA and OLIVIA for taking part in this conversation! I thought their experiences were concurrent in a few ways but also unique in ways that were interesting. Based on their relative lack of Dalcroze experience going into their training center experience, I thought they would offer a relatable story for those in the TEAMM who are considering attending a summer training session.

Both Kayla and Olivia are dynamic and passionate music educators, bringing so much talent and experience to our community. Part of my vision for MusicXT is precisely this, to benefit from one another’s creativity, experience, energy, and support. Hearing from me is one thing… I have a specific point of view and plenty of expertise… but giving a platform for exciting new voices like Kayla and Olivia to share their journey, this is what will really make us all successful. The ultimate goal of MusicXT is to make Dalcroze-based teaching practices mainstream, so that our whole world can experience the benefits. Conversations like this are a big part of that effort.

If you are as passionate as we are about the MAGIC of movement and the way it can TRANSFORM children’s lives, please upgrade to the TEAMM and be a part of it!
