As I’m typing this post I am looking out at the picturesque Green Lake in Northern Michigan, a slight breeze cooling off the summer evening and the sound of music wafting through the air. Interlochen Summer Arts Academy is coming to a close and you can hear the most delicious cacophony of music almost constantly here, with amazing musicians practicing in nearly every corner of the camp. It has been a genuinely magical experience this summer and I look forward to sharing more of what I discovered! I was able to take many of the lesson ideas and concepts to a much higher level of sophistication while working with these brilliant young musicians.

My good friends at the Virtual Dalcroze Meetup (VDM) have invited me to present a “short course” with six sessions starting on September 6th. I was honored to be asked and am looking forward to sharing some of my favorite “games” from the Dalcroze tradition and how I might adapt them for the elementary classroom. This will be full of game ideas, but also tools for developing your own games.
