I presented this activity at a Virtual Dalcroze Meetup last year, and it’s one of my favorites to use in the week prior to Halloween. Many schools have become somewhat prohibitive around the celebration of Halloween, for myriad reasons, and are discouraged from explicitly using the holiday during instruction. I am mindful of this, and when I teach activities using this imagery I am careful to avoid mentioning the holiday or even suggesting its implication. This is a particularly good activity that can be easily defended in this way.
